translated from Liputan6.com
In the midst of her career as an auditor, Metta began to realize that her love for art had never faded. She became increasingly interested and sought out more information about various fields related to art and fashion.
"I eventually tried to convince my parents to support my pursuit of art and fashion, which they hadn’t approved of before. In the end, they agreed."
Metta also returned to college to pursue a degree in Fashion Design at Lasalle College Jakarta, where she graduated. However, before finishing her studies, she was already approached multiple times by people and friends who saw her portfolio on social media, asking her to design wedding dresses.
"Even though I was inexperienced, I took on the opportunities and challenges, and was able to bring their dreams to life. From there, things began to grow and I started receiving orders."
Eventually, Metta officially launched her business by opening a boutique in early 2019 in Bekasi, starting with just one workshop and two employees. Now, the business has expanded, adding more staff, and she is preparing to open a new branch in Jakarta.

From Auditor to Fashion Designer: The Inspiring Journey of Metta Febriyan
Designer Metta Febriyan started her career from the ground up to reach where she is today. However, who would have guessed that Metta was once an auditor? After graduating her study majoring accounting in university, she worked at a Big Four Public Accounting Firm (Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler) as an auditor. Despite her hectic work schedule that kept her up late, she still found time to make crafts and accessories, which she sold as a way to express her love for art and shipped them worldwide. Hence, her instinct for the fashion world began, eventhough she was so busy that it led to exhaustion and hospitalization, she continued pursuing her hobby with passion. It was never about making a profit, it was purely because she found joy in immersing herself in the world of art.
"All the gowns are designed and produced in-house, nothing is bought. I always prioritize the requests and satisfaction of clients, as well as ensuring high quality, from the materials and craftsmanship to the patterns, service, and up-to-date designs," she explained.
"Additionally, we follow trends and stay up-to-date, but that doesn't mean we lose our identity. Creating works that reflect your personal identity, so that people can see the unique qualities in your creations," she added.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Metta continued to create by having her employees work from home. However, as the situation improved and the government allowed businesses to reopen, her boutique was able to resume operations.
"But we are by appointment only (to maintain exclusivity and ensure a comfortable environment). We allow a maximum of two parties per day. We always adhere to health protocols, and regularly sterilize the boutique and clothing using UV light and disinfectant," she continued.
"We also offer a variety of complete wedding packages, engagement packages, or even single garment rentals or purchases. We also collaborate with wedding vendors, such as florists, where clients who make a deal will receive a discount voucher for florists. Clients can also borrow accessories for parties or weddings available at the boutique," she added.
Not only that, the designs created by Metta also won 3rd place in the UC 1000 Fashion Design Contest. Additionally, her creations were worn by Cakra Khan for the Grand Opening Ceremony of the 2018 Asian Games. Several celebrities have also worn her designs, including Fitri Carlina, Wika Salim, Rina Nose, Inul Daratista, Nino RAN, Aaliyah Massaid, the lead vocalist of Armada Band, Brata Kartasasmita (Mr. Universe Tourism 2018), and several beauty pageant participants and runners-up.
